Over a year ago I hired him to do my plans that I found in a home plan book. I stayed in contact over the month's through emails and phone calls with no response until i asked for my money back. Remember over a year has passed. He finally called back and sent me a drawing of the foundation, which if you saw it was some very minimal work on his part, there were a couple of changes I wanted and revised his plan and sent them to him. That's the last I heard from him until again I said I wanted a refund. But he is claiming he did all this work and only wants to refund $1,000 of my $3,400. It looks like he has done this in the past, takes a down payment, doesn't do anything and then keeps the money. Where I come from and I don't think it's any different in Prescott that's called theft.

Six months ago we hired Carlos to design our dream home. When we first met with him on our property and told him we would need the plans done quickly as we had tough living conditions he looked at me and my wife and said "I'll get right on it". We explained the design concept we wanted and he took notes while on the property. We met him at his office the next week with the first of three payments, showed him the designs we liked from his books and left. There was no contact with him for over three months, we tried to text and call his office during business hours. Finally we were called in to look at the floor plan, it was a very illogical design, with patios , bar-b-que and entertainment areas in front of the house. We met with him again and he redesigned the entertainment area in the back yard where it belongs. We were told that once he started our project, he would finish us out. Well three months longer of no contact we had to beg him to please contact us with an estimated time of completion. He actually texted us back, second contact in six months. He didn't answer any of our questions, never returned the text I sent him the next day. Two weeks later after one more call to his office, We texted him that we wouldn't be using him as our designer. We asked for a refund and were denied. C. Leyva Design INC is where your home dreams go to die. He was the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with in my 40+ years of home building and construction. He wasted six months of our time and kept $3000 of our money. I say C. Leyva Design is a hard pass.

No idea what these two 1-star reviews are about because Carlos has been amazing to work with. We have been working on a couple projects together and he has been responsive, helpful and patient. Not only that, but he really cares about the little details that make the project come alive that a homeowner may not consider. Incredible guy, and his wife Linda is so sweet. Wonderful team to work with.
