The staff genuinely has a family feel helping to make sure to enhance your experience. The have designed some of the most scenic landscapes in the valley and I always enjoy seeing their next project.

I have been a customer of Berghoff Design Group for over 15 years. I recently needed a review and analysis of my irrigation system and I was once again blown away with their level of expertise and professionalism. The two gentlemen that represented BDG were amazing! They knew exactly what my issues were and how to fix them. They also spent time learning from me what my goals and desires were for my landscaping. They made me feel like they really cared. I don’t usually take the time to leave reviews unless I’ve had a particularly positive experience, but our experience with Berghoff was disappointing enough that I think others should know. We spent a significant amount of money on a landscape design for our new home and ultimately received a design that came in roughly $350,000 over the budget we anticipated. When we asked about reducing the scope to better fit our budget, we were told that doing so would require paying an additional design fee. What was especially frustrating was that the original design still hadn’t addressed some of the priorities we had specifically discussed. For example, with young children, I had asked for the pool fence boundaries to be thoughtfully incorporated into the design, but those concerns were never resolved. We also wanted a full-size sport court, but were told that the only option they would include was a multipurpose concrete pad because it better fit the home’s aesthetic. When I later asked for the original site or yard plans that had been used to create the landscape design, I was told they didn’t have them available to provide. We attempted to follow up to find a solution, but felt our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. We ultimately hired another landscape designer, and the difference in communication was remarkable. They took the time to understand what we were trying to accomplish and immediately pointed out that the heavy use of cactus in the original design didn’t align with the look we had described wanting. In the end, we were able to build the full-size sport court we originally wanted for about half the cost of the concrete pad we had been encouraged to install. While everything worked out for us in the end, I wish the design process had been more collaborative, responsive, and focused on our priorities as the client.
