At Your Service Pros

I called At Your Service Pros to diagnose an AC issue. Their technician quoted me roughly $6,000 in major repairs and did not offer or even mention any lower-cost options, such as cleaning the outdoor condenser unit or topping off refrigerant. The next day I had a second company come for another opinion. That technician fixed the actual problem for $250. He also pointed out that the caps had been left off my refrigerant service valves, and I later found one of the caps lying in my yard about 20 feet from the unit. From what I understand, leaving refrigerant valve caps off is a known tactic among some disreputable HVAC techs, since it can lead to slow leaks and future service calls. I can't recommend a company that pushes a $6,000 job when the real fix was $250 and leaves equipment in this condition. Get a second opinion before agreeing to anything with this company.
